How we do it...
Once we have agreed what is the most suitable programme for your individual staff we visit your premises once a fortnight or more by agreement and assess performance against nationally agreed standards. On a one-to-one basis we train, advise and coach your staff until we are satisfied that they can operate at the required standard. They are assessed by a number of techniques depending on the task at hand and the opportunities that are available. These can include, but are not limited to, observations, witness testimonies, product analysis, written assignments, question and answers, peer testimony and expert witnesses. All of this is done at an agreed time pace and place of your choosing. This evidence is collated into a portfolio of evidence which proves competence and the candidate’s ability to perform consistently at the desired level. This is then presented to SQA for verification and ultimately certification. Increasingly we are providing candidates with some degree of on-line support including the use of remote access lap-tops and web resources through our ‘MOVE – IT’ project (www.move-it.tv)
